Did anyone receive a JakPak for Christmas? Mom send you one, or grandma and grandpa? What did you think? Were you totally surprised or were you the one that had it on your list? Would love to hear your comments....

I didn't receive one for Christmas unfortunately. I would like to know how comfortable is the JakPak while wearing a backpack?

The tent portion that is between you and the pack is completely comfortable. Since the tent is detachable, sometimes if I know I won't need it, I unzip it and put it in my pack.

I never notice it when I have my pack on.

I saw your product at the Pacific Northwest Sportsman show in Portland this weekend. It is a pretty exciting design for outdoor enthusiasts. If your product is truly waterproof, I will buy one. I fish alot in Oregon and SW Washington, spending many nights on the riverbanks, and the Jak Pak could be just the ticket to reduce weight and bulk on these trips. But to be sure, I have just ust a few questions:
Are all the seams taped or only some seams taped?
What are the static column waterproof ratings of the different fabrics?
What is the static column waterproof rating of the taped seams?

You can read more of the technical language regarding JakPak by clicking on the specs tab. I do know the JakPak is 100% fully seam taped.

Thank you. I see it now, 10,000 mm waterproof rating and a breathability rating of 5,000g. Both middle of the road, but adequate for light to normal use. I think I need something a little more bullet proof as I am avidly out there and sometimes bushwacking through all kinds of brush. Besides that I am a fairly large guy, which impacts how the fabric stands up to sleeping pressure on hard wet ground.
When the next version comes ouy with a 20,000mm and 20,000g ratings I will certainly buy.

I would love to see the company donate some of these to homeless people or people in crisis (Haiti for example). This could possibly be invaluable. I didn't see anything mentioned about warmth or whether the fabric was helpful against the elements.
